Yamane is a composer and artist based in Japan. She grew up with video games in a Japanese new town.
Her work explores the friction between commodified bodies, cultural systems, and her own skin-level perception. It engages with kawaii as a commodified aesthetic, socially constructed girlhood, and the conditions through which bodies are shaped by consumer culture.
Her practice includes orchestral works, text scores, electronic sound, field recordings, curation, spatial production, and performance. She creates sound-based situations for exploration and dialogue.
