Yamane is a composer and artist based in Japan who grew up with video games from an early age.
Her work explores the friction between large cultural systems and embodied sensibilities shaped by consumer culture, including kawaii as a commodified aesthetic and socially constructed girlhood.
Her practice spans orchestral and text score composition, as well as the creation of spaces for exploration and dialogue through sound.
